CAKE. Simple white cake but think colored flowers would be better and I’m not sure if we’re doing a tiered cake like this. Maybe smaller for us to cut and then variety of desserts? I think I originally saved this for the see through florals for the cake stand, but maybe a better execution and not plexi?
CEILING. Depending on the final design and what’s possible, I don’t mind a ton of little lights.
CEILING. Started to think filling the overhead space somehow might be nice. Not that I love all of these fabric ceilings, but just ideas to get your wheels turning in case it makes sense to have it.
CEILING. See prior caption.
CEILING. See prior caption.
CEILING. See prior caption. Covering the poles maybe? I don’t know.
CEILING. FLORALS. See prior caption. Also like having something behind band. Maybe a row of florals at base of stage? Too much? I don’t think it’s super huge tent though. I would like them on a stage, but again, might not make sense with the space we have to work with. Don’t want the dance floor to become too small. I often see that at weddings, the floor is made too small.
CHAIRS. FLORALS. I like these chairs, but again, not sure if they will go with final design or maybe not ‘black tie’ enough? Also like florals in front of band.
CHAIRS. LIGHTS. FLOOR. PLACE SETTING. Like these chairs, but again, not sure if they are the right fancy vibe or too much wood. Same with lights. Thinking gold lights might make more sense? Like napkin/menu/gold flatware, just ideas.
CHAIRS. CEILING. FLORALS. These might be the same chairs as prior image actually. Another fabric idea for the ceiling/poles. Like the lower flowers here with tapers, though I think we might need hurricanes so they don’t blow out!
CHAIRS. FLATWARE. CENTERPIECES. Again, same vibe chairs may not go with our theme. Like the gold flatware. Centerpiece candle/hurricane might be too tall. Want people to be able to see each other and not have to compete too much with decor. Maybe different sized (height & width) tapers/hurricanes surrounded by some florals?
CHAIRS. FLATWARE. FLORAL VESSELS. Really dig the chairs. I think some are two-person benches? Black-handled flatware with gold might be nice. Or just all gold. Black vessels for low florals looks nice. Was thinking gold, but maybe also or instead black? I’m fine with variety and not every single table having to be the exact same. Some could be one thing and some another for visual variety.
CHAIRS. FLATWARE. CENTERPIECES. These might be my other preferred chairs (along with the prior black ones), maybe over those more waxed oak chairs I seem to have saved a lot of. I spy gold flatware. These centerpieces are also nice idea. Opposite of the other one, where this one has florals in center and votives around. I think I like the taller candles vs. all votives.
LOUNGE. BAR. Wondering if lounge area(s) is possible. Tent might be too small. Was also thinking comfy chairs/table for cocktails in addition to hightops. It’s be great to have a lounge-y sitting area just outside tent so it can be used for both cocktails and reception when folks want some fresh air, but I can’t remember if the lawn slopes down too much. Or maybe a lounge area for the cigars a little further from the tent. The black bar looks great, love that.
FLOORING. I’ve photographed a few weddings with floors like this. I like it, but might be too distracting with our design? Do not like these chairs. Low florals are decent.
FLOORING. LOUNGE. FLORALS. This flooring is a little starker. Prior one more mellow and the diagonals/diamonds look better to me than these larger ones, but still a fun touch. Not necessarily this lounge, but just the idea of a lounge(s). Ceiling fabric a bit too much, colors & style, likely wouldn’t match our design.
FLORALS. BANDSTAND. Don't like this style greenery overhead, and those lights don't match our vibe. Lower florals on table are nice, but less 'tight' and a little more organic. Like the bandstand, wall/background behind them. Podiums unnecessary and stage likely too high for the DC tent. Realize this might not be possible, but throwing it in here. Like some sort of greenery/florals on the back of our two chair, nothing crazy, but pretty.
FLORALS. BANDSTAND. Another angle of same prior photos just to show band area and florals.
CHAIRS. LIGHTING. FLORALS. CENTERPIECES. BAND STAGE. Like both style chairs. Like gold trimmed overhead lighting. Like floral structure, but not sure this this will be too much florals with everything else. I realize I will probably have to pick some and not all. I do want to be mindful of costs and what's worthwhile. Like the centerpieces of various candles/hurricanes and low white florals with greens.
TREES. CENTERPIECE VESSELS. I've always loved the idea of greenery/trees inside with white uplighting. Maybe it's not around the middle & dance floor poles, could be on sides or faux potted, cut not planted so they're lighter and easier to move maybe. White uplighting in general I like. Like the vessels for the table flowers, a sort of raised bowl.
TREES. GREENERY. FLORALS. Just another idea for greens under tent in different ways. in front of band as well. Florals on table aren't bad, but swap the purple for pink flowers. Do like how they're a little more organic, not tight arrangements.
GREENERY. Obviously this is too much, but I was drawn to it, so included it here anyway.
FLORALS. GREENERY. BANDSTAND. BAR BACKDROP. Just like the idea of some sort of nice backdrop for the bar area and band. Looks like boxwood in the white planters in front of band stage? Like that, but again might be too much for the DC tent. Don't know the dimensions, but I think with a 10-piece band it'll be a little tight, though they've played there before. Like the table florals, their raised vessels, varied candle sizes with hurricanes, and votives. I like the mix. And again it's white florals with greenery. I think I'm starting to understand what I'm being drawn to.
TREES. LIGHTING. this is an example of what I mentioned prior. Trees with white uplighting on the exterior and lounges. Though this looks like just a bar lounge tent only.
GREENERY. More mellow garlands on the poles could work as well, but not dire. Would pick trees with white uplighting over this, but depends on cost.
FLORALS. Example of tall ones mixed in. Dig the white and green. I have a love/hate with them, because they can block peoples faces/get in the way, but they add nice dimension, which I like. Again, not dire, just including here in ideas.
FLORALS. Like these taller urns either as entry or elsewhere if something needed somewhere.
FLORALS. Idea of a garland or something to the entrance of the tent is what my Mom brought up, which I was surprised, but I'm open to it. Doesn't have to be super elaborate.
GREENERY. Not sure if I really dig this, but included as an idea for filling the overhead space with greens vs. a whole structure of florals, if budget became an issue.
GREENERY. LIGHTING. Again, not exactly like this, but just the idea of having greenery around and ambient lighting. The lanterns, the light on the steps. We don't have steps, but it can be nice for folks to see their way around outside in general. Not necessary, but just including here in ideas.
FLORALS. GREENERY. This reminds me of the other greenhouse-y image above. Probably too much or doesn't match our design, but may be useful for you to have as a reference. I like those window mirrors. I have one just like this (smaller) in my house. And mirrors like this can be a hindrance to photographers :) I'm fine with having a mirror as a sign or something. It can be tricky to photograph, but can be useful if people want a quick touch up!
FLORALS. LOUNGE. BAR. Just other ideas for possible inspiration.
FLORALS. GREENERY. URNS. Again, did the urns with florals/greenery and greenery around tent straps.
FLORALS. GREENERY. Another example of more sparse greenery if that works better. I do like the white flowers that are hanging down.
LIGHTING. FLORALS. CHAIRS. The non-white chairs, of course, haha. Similar wood lighting. White/green florals pretty. Don't necessarily need them hung from each light like this, but open to some version of this or the idea of greenery/florals overhead.
LIGHITNG. LOUNGE. It would be cool to string some lights up just outside the tent and put the lounge area under.
LIGHTING. CENTERPIECES. Have a similar wood lighting at the start of this page. Again, wood might not match our design. Did the low florals with different sized candles/hurricanes. Don't like the chairs or croissant napkins.
LIGHTING. CHAIRS. Again that same chair, haha. Dig these gold trim lights. Thought these might work best with the vibe?
PLACE SETTING. Love all of this. Thinking of white linens with black napkins? Regardless, whatever we do, I think black napkins are the way to go, so guys don't have white lint all over them :)
PLACE SETTING. Love all of this.
